Heads of international research centers to participate in Gaidar Forum at RANEPA

Heads of prominent international research centers will share their opinions on various issues at the 11th Gaidar Forum platforms at RANEPA from January 15-16, 2020. The experts will include Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the European Bureau for Policy Consulting and Social Research Bernd Marin and President of the Center for International Public Policy Studies Naoki Tanaka.

Jeffrey David Sachs is Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University. From 2002 to 2016 Professor Sachs served as the Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University. Mr. Sachs He has been advisor to three United Nations Secretaries-General, and currently serves as an SDG Advocate under Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. He is bestselling author, and syndicated columnist whose monthly newspaper columns appear in more than 100 countries. He is the co-recipient of the 2015 Blue Planet Prize, the leading global prize for environmental leadership, and has twice been named among Time Magazine’s 100 most influential world leaders.

Bernd Marin is the Director of the European Bureau for Policy Consulting and Social Research in Vienna, and former Executive Director of the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research, a social science think tank affiliated to the UN (1988-2015). In 2015-2016 he was Director of the Webster Vienna Private University. From 2015 to 2018, he led the international “Social Inclusion Monitoring (SIM) Europe Reform Barometer” Project. Bernd Marin has served as an expert and policy advisor to various governments, international, inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations, to business and management, to voluntary and interest organizations, chambers of commerce and trade unions.

Naoki Tanaka is President of the Center for International Public Policy Studies. He is an economic analyst specializing in a variety of fields, including international and Japanese economics, politics and industry. He was previously president of the 21st Century Public Policy Institute.
