Dialogue "Model of business school for leaders of the 21st century" has taken place on the Gaidar forum

On the 16 of January within a framework of the Gaidar forum – 2018 "Russia and world: purposes and values" an open dialogue "Model of business school for leaders of the 21st century" has taken place. Vice-Rector, Director, Institute of Business Studies, RANEPA; President, RABE, Sergey Myasoedov was a moderator. President, Professor, IMD, Jean-François Manzoni and President, Chief Executive Officer, AACSB International, Tom Robinson were participants of the dialogue.

During the open dialogue, experts designated the main tendencies of business education, advantages and disadvantages of independent business schools. The necessity of discussion of the questions is caused by the growing impact of the VUCA's concept and introduction of new management technologies.

The issues of business schools’ development and the need in their change according to expectations of business community were raised. Tom Robinson designated the main trends in business: influence of demography on business processes, development of technologies, the growing globalization and localization. The speaker also noted the need in closer cooperation of business schools with world business community and also need in development of practical skills of experts who having certain personal qualities would help to create new generation of heads.

Jean-François Manzoni told about merits and flaws of independent business schools. So, the main flaws, according to the speaker, are the dependence on monetary receipts and an individual covering of expenses. Among the main advantages, he designated an opportunity to focus attention on more detailed research of what is necessary for each concrete school, and special internal environment of such educational institutions.

The organizers include the Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy (Gaidar Institute) and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).
