Best Cluster Management Practices Presented at the Gaidar Forum

Development prospects of the regions were discussed at the expert discussion Best Innovation Cluster Management Practices within the Gaidar Forum 2017 currently held in RANEPA.

Oleg Fomichev, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, was moderator of the session. He emphasized that in 2016, the Ministry of Economic Development announced the start of the project to select the most attractive world-class innovations for the constituents of the Russian Federation. In the course of the work, the Ministry selected 11 leading clusters. According to the moderator, today, the winners of the project got stronger and are ready to meet the challenges they pose for themselves.
The discussion on the development strategy of innovation business was attended by Andrey Antonov, Deputy Governor, the Tomsk region; Aleksey Shchedrov, Head, the Department of Innovation and Industrial Policy of the Lipetsk region; Alexander Smekalin, First Deputy Chairman, the Government of the Ulyanovsk region; Artem Zdunov, Minister of Economy, the Republic of Tatarstan; Nataliya Ryazantseva, Deputy Chairman of the Government, the Krasnoyarsk Territory; Vladimir Popov, Deputy Governor, the Kaluga Region; Alexander Sedov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Science and New Technologies, the Republic of Mordovia; Lev Reshetnikov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, the Novosibirsk region; Igor Agamirzyan, Vice President, the National Research University - Higher School of Economics; Artem Shadrin, Director of Strategic Development and Innovations, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation; Vadim Kulikov, Deputy Director General, the Agency for Technological Development; Sergey Polyakov, Director General, the Innovation Promotion Fund; Pavel Rudnik, Project Manager for Cluster Programs, the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia.

During the discussion, the experts shared their experience in creating unique smart technologies, and agreed that the lack of personnel comes to the fore, so many regions open learning centers in collaboration with universities. In addition, speakers emphasized the importance of infrastructure development in the entities of the Russian Federation.
