36 years of banking experience, including 16 as CEO/Chairman of 4 banks in Russia. 25 years at Citibank with experience in 11 countries spanning both developed (England, Scotland, Greece, France, Norway, Italy and the USA) and emerging markets (Kenya, Puerto Rico, Egypt, Russia). 11 years as a senior credit officer.

Corporate finance in the UK and European markets in leveraged debt for Citibank (1989 - 1993). Structured Finance Director for Citibank for 5 years covering structuring, underwriting, syndicating and, when necessary, restructuring leveraged senior debt transactions totaling $11bn.

Senior advisor banks for Actis Ltd UK, covering Mexico, India, Uganda, Nigeria and Cuba. Acted as senior advisor for incoming CEO of Burgan Bank, Kuwait.

Lectured at universities in the USA and Russia on a variety of topics covering leadership, risk, multicultural management. Has written numerous articles on the banking industry in Russia. 20 years experience in Russia.
