EF Education First is a global education company focusing on language, academic, cultural exchange, and educational travel programs. With a mission to open the world through education, EF was founded in 1965 and has over 600 schools and offices in more than 50 countries. The company currently has a global staff of over 50,000 people and trains millions of students every year.
As well as a large pool of internal academic experts, EF works with a number of leading academic institutions to improve the way students learn, including the University of Cambridge, Harvard, Peking and Tokyo.
In terms of social outreach, the EF Global Classroom Foundation is an umbrella for EF’s charitable activities, which have included disaster relief in the U.S., China, Haiti, Indonesia, Japan, and Nepal as well as providing funding for better educational opportunities to the underprivileged. Every year, the Hult family, EF’s owners, donates the award for the Hult Prize—the world’s largest graduate student competition helping to solve the globe’s toughest social challenges.
Finally, EF is the official language supplier of six Olympic games, and owner of the world’s most global professional cycling team, EF Pro Cycling.
