Russia's participation in new Silk Road project in the focus of discussion at Gaidar Forum
On January 13, Gaidar Forum participants discussed the prospects for a new Silk Road development in a panel session at RANEPA.
Head of the Russia in the Asia-Pacific Region Programme of Carnegie Moscow Center Alexander Gabuev moderated the event attended by President of the Center for International Public Policy Studies (CIPPS) Naoki Tanaka; former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan (2014-2015) Djoomart Otorbaev; Deputy Economic Development Minister Stanislav Voskresensky; Johns Hopkins University Professor Ho-Fung Hung; Peking University Professor, Founding Director of the China Center for Economic Research, former World Bank Chief Economist and Sr. Vice President (2008-2012) Justin Yifu Lin; and President of the Astana International Financial Center Kairat Kelimbetov.
According to the experts, Russia and China have recently established a smooth and stable mode of cooperation – they are planning and implementing new joint projects. Chinese institutions are actively participating in interesting and commercially profitable projects.
