Prospects of the single European/Russian economic space to be discussed at the Gaidar Forum 2017
Are businesses interested in implementing the Greater Eurasia Project? Do EU and EEU have the future, in particular, as concerns the elaboration of an inter-block trade and economic agreement? These questions shall form the basis for the Panel Discussion Europe from Lisbon to Vladivostok: A Dream or Reality? to be held on January 13, the second day of the Gaidar Forum 2017.
The traditional trade and economic relations on the space from Lisbon to Vladivostok are stable and mutually beneficial. In 2016, the contradictions between the national interest and globalization sharpened. Therefore, the question of clarification of the growth drivers of national economies (GDP growth) and adjustment of guidance in the matters of trade and economic integration emerged full-blown.
The prospects to shape the single European/Russian economic space are to be discussed by: Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Policy Centre, President of the European Council (2009-2014), Prime Minister of Belgium (2008-2009); Esko Aho, Executive Chairman of the Board, the East Office of Finnish Industries, Prime Minister of Finland (1991-1995). The panelists shall also be: Franz Fischler, President of the European Forum Alpbach; EU Commissioner (1992-2005); Tigran Sargsyan, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission; Alexander Shokhin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Tatiana Valovaya, Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The moderator of the discussion shall be Vladimir Salamatov, Director of the International Trade and Integration Research Center, Head of the International Commerce Department, Graduate School of Corporate Management, (GSCM), RANEPA.
Organizers of the Gaidar Forum: “The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration” (RANEPA), The Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy (Gaidar Institute) and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).
