Professors from leading universities and business schools of the world to speak at the Gaidar Forum in RANEPA

The Gaidar Forum will be open on January 12, 2017 in RANEPA and will be supported by the global expert community. Representatives of leading universities and business schools of the world shall come to Moscow to take part in the key discussions of the conference.

Professors of U.S. universities have confirmed their participation in the discussion “Quality Changes of Financial Institutions in Russia within 25 Years” to be held on the first day of the Forum.  The reasons for the stability of the financial organizations in Russia and their role in the current economic process shall become a central topic of discussion. The event shall be attended by Laurence Kotlikoff, Economics Professor at Boston University, Head of the International Laboratory for Fiscal Sustainability Studies at the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy. The discussion shall be held with the participation of professors at Columbia University, Michael I. Sovern and Katharina Pistor.

On the second day of the Forum, an expert discussion devoted to the milestone in the world history - centennial of the Russian Revolution - shall be held. The reasons that led to regime change in February 1917 and the rise of the Bolsheviks to power shall be discussed by the Russian history experts, including Nick Hurley, PhD, Harvard University, and Robert Service, Emeritus Professor of Russian History, University of Oxford. In addition, within the framework of the discussion, the experts shall assess the implications of the Russian Revolution for the world history, its impact on the subsequent color revolutions in Central and Eastern Europe.  The discussion shall be attended by George Lawson, Associate Professor in International Relations at the London School of Economics, author of the books “The Global Transformation: History, Modernity and the Making of International Relations” (with Barry Buzan as co-author), and “Negotiated Revolutions: The Czech Republic, South Africa and Chile”.

In 2017, some part of discussions of the conference shall be devoted to the present and the future of business education. Sir Paul Judge, President of AMBA International, and Andrew Wilson, CEO of AMBA International, shall come to the Gaidar Forum. The experts shall give speeches within the discussion “Business Education: The Role of Emotional Intelligence and Adaptability to Changes”. In addition, a discussion within the Forum shall be devoted to the formation of modern innovative management knowledge. The expert discussion shall be attended by Tim Mescon, Vice President of the Association of Schools of Business AACSB International, Olivier Oger, Director of the EDHEC Business School and Michael Page, Vice-Principal and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Bentley University.
