Experts confirm the need for ecological and economic approaches to development of Russian regions
On the last day of the Gaidar Forum, experts discussed ecological and economic approaches to the development of Russian regions, in particular the Southern coast of Crimea, and their transition to the ecological economy model. Head of the Knowledge Economics Laboratory at RANEPA Institute of Applied Economic Research Vladimir Komarov moderated the event and delivered one of the key reports.
“The ecological and economic approach is a new paradigm now in demand, not only in theory, but in practice,” Komarov said. “The system of strategic planning of the regions’ development needs to be updated based on this innovation.”
The expert noted that the more developed a country is, the greater the negative ecological footprint it leaves. This fact is the reason for the need to develop a program for further economic and social development on the green economy principle.
