David Lipton to take part in the Gaidar Forum 2017
On January 12, 2017, on the first day of the Forum, David Lipton, First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund will take part in the Panel Discussion.
David Lipton was Special Assistant to the U.S. President and Senior Director for International Economic Affairs at the U.S. National Economic Council and National Security Council chaired by the U.S. President. He was Managing Director at Citi.
From 1993 to 1998, David Lipton worked in the U.S. Department of the Treasury as part of the Clinton administration. He helped lead the Treasury’s response to the financial crisis in Asia. Mr. Lipton participated in the modernization of the international financial architecture.
Previously, he was a fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center of Scholars. From 1989 to 1992, he teamed up with Jeffrey Sachs, working as an economic adviser to the governments of Russia, Poland and Slovenia during their transitions to capitalism.
At the Gaidar Forum, David Lipton will give a speech at the Panel discussion Russia and the World: Setting Priorities. Vladimir Mau, Rector of RANEPA will be the moderator of this discussion.
