Carol Scott Leonard taught at Lafayette College, State University of New York, Lomonosov Moscow State University and Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan).

Carol Scott Leonard is the author of numerous articles and books, including Agrarian Reform in Russia (2010, 2015) Cambridge University Press),Privatization in the Russian Transition (2012, Routledge), Reform and Regicide: The Reign of Peter III of Russia (1993, Indiana University Press).  She has received numerous research grants for her work in economics, economic history, and regional studies.

She holds a Master's degree and a PhD in History from the Indiana University and a Bachelor’s degree in regional studies and expert assessments in Russia and the CIS from the University of Minnesota in the USA.

1966: graduated from the University of Minnesota.
