Biography

Natalya Zubarevich is an expert in the subject of social and economic development of regions, social and political geography. As a supervisor and an executive officer, she participates in the programs of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, as well as in international projects and programs.

Since 2005 Natalya Zubarevich has been a professor at the Department of Geography of Moscow State University. She runs courses of lectures on Geography of Non-productive Sphere", "Modern Problems of Regional Development", "New Trends in Social Geography".

N.Zubarevich holds the position of Director of the regional program of the Independent Institute for Social Policy and an expert for the Development Program of UN and the Moscow Representative Office of the International Labor Organization.

She is the author, co-author and science editor of a number of monographs, including: "Social Development of Russian Regions: Problems and Trends of the Transitional Period" (2007, 2005 and 2003) "Regional Russia: What Social Space Do We Occupy?" (2005) "A Region as a Subject of Politics and Societal Relations" (2000).

N.Zubarevich gives lectures at and to universities and public authorities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Netherlands and Germany. 

She graduated from the Department of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University she is a holder of a degree of Doctor of Geographic Sciences and a tenured professor.
