M. Bouev is professor of applied finance at the European University at St.Petersburg (since 2012) and vice-rector for strategic development at the New Economic School, Moscow (since 2018). M. Bouev received his doctorate from Oxford University, UK (2006). He has more than 7 years of professional experience in the financial sector. He has worked in the investment banking division (financial institutions team) for N.M.Rothschild & Sons (2000), and on the FX quantitative analytics teams for ABN AMRO Bank (2005-2008, as associate) and the Royal Bank of Scotland (2008-2012, as vice-president) in the City of London. While in academia, his research projects have been supported by N.M.Rothschild & Sons, EERC-Russia, Open Society Foundation grants. In 2012-2017 he was head of the Department of Economics, European University at St.Petersburg.
