Biography

Since 2016 – Head of the Moscow Office of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for relations with the Russian Federation.

Since 2015, the head of the strategic program for the development of more inclusive and efficient food systems.

Since 2013, she has been heading the FAO Rural Infrastructure and Agro-Industries Division, Coordinator for the Five Strategic Objectives of FAO. 

Since 2007 – Senior Advisor in FAO’s Investment Centre. 

Until 2007 – Adviser in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Head of Group at the Institute for the Economy in Transition (Gaydar Institute), President of the Analytical Centre on Agri-Food Economics, Professor and Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics at the Moscow Higher School of Economics. 

In the Soviet era, she worked in the All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences and its institutions.

Honorary Fellow of the International Association of Agricultural Economists. 

Doctor of Economics.

She made a great contribution to the work of many international organizations, such as: The World Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the International Food Policy Research Institute; she was in charge of the development of the agricultural policy of Russia, took part in the legislative work. She provided advisory assistance to Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Jamaica and other countries.

She won state awards established by the Government of the Russian Federation and the French Republic.
