GF 2017 Key themes
The program of the Forum traditionally included the following themes: economic situation in Russia and in the world, social development, priority goals for the development of healthcare, education, innovation, public administration, small and medium-sized businesses, tax policy, development of territories (for more details see the program of the Forum).
The program also traditionally included discussions and debates on challenges of the new reality: Europe after BREXIT, Investment Attraction under Sanctions, the Global Energy Market in New Conditions, Ecology, Priority Projects as a Factor of Economic Growth, Banking Sector Sustainability, and New Regional Policy.

GF 2017 EVENTS
Discussions at the Forum are traditionally focused on current challenging issues. Particular importance is attached to topics related to comprehension of the position Russia is taking in the world and its strategic role.
The Forum is a meeting point for theorists and practitioners, world leading scientists and politicians and influential representatives of global financial and business elites.
A characteristic feature of the Forum is the inclusion of “special” events in its architecture. Within the Forum 2017, several events of the type were held.
The Forum was opened with the Expert Discussion - Business Breakfast “25 Years: Foreign Investments in Russia's Social and Economic Development”. The discussion brought together participants unique for such format: CEOs of global companies, heads of Russian regions and the heads of the federal ministries of the Russian Federation. The experts examined how the work realities have changed for investors in Russia in 25 years, what is the secret of the growth formula and sustainability of the business.
The Panel Discussion of the second day of the Gaidar Forum 2017 “Sustainable Economic Growth: The Russian Model” was held in a new format. The expert discussion on the key report by Alexey Kudrin, Chairman of the Board, the Center for Strategic Research Foundation (CSR), was held. The key report was devoted to the perspectives for economic growth in the Russian Federation in 2018-2024 and essentially was the first public presentation of the work on the key CSR project.
AMBA International Association is the world leader in the evaluation of quality of Master of Business Administration programs and evaluation of the quality management training. In addition to the accreditation activities, AMBA International is the popularizer of achievements of management and business education, a platform for exchange of the best world experience. The latest trends in business education, its achievements and problems are discussed through conferences, roundtables carried out by AMBA.
In 2017 AMBA celebrates its 50th anniversary. Its celebration was opened by an Expert Discussion at the Gaidar Forum 2017 “Russia and the World: Setting Priorities”, dedicated to the most topical problems of business education.
At the Gaidar Forum 2017 “Russia and the World: Setting Priorities”, a series of lectures by the eminent experts to guests of the Forum and students of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) was held. In 2017 among the speakers were: Peter Gourevitch (Professor, University of California, San Diego), Mitchell Dean (Professor, Copenhagen Business School; Professor, Macquarie University), John Zysman (Professor, University of California, Berkeley), Branko Milanović (Professor, City University of New York), Spyridon Flogaitis (Director, European Public Law Organization), etc.
A panel discussion on the best innovation cluster management practices in Russia took place on 12 January. Oleg Fomichev, the State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, and executive officials from 11 Russian constituent regions joined the panel. Representatives from the Republic of Mordovia, the Republic of Tatarstan, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Kaluga Oblast, Lipetsk Oblast, Novosibirsk Oblast, Tomsk Oblast, and Ulyanovsk Oblast shared super cluster development practices. Pavel Rudnik, a project manager with Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, revealed the upcoming training program on developing advanced clusters in AIRR regions.
